Why Kosher?

Why Kosher?
A surprising 39 percent of people who buy kosher food do so for non-religious reasons. For many, kosher’s stringent standards of cleanliness and accountability provide peace of mind given recent food scares. For example, to comply with kosher standards, all produce is closely inspected and washed three times. With kosher food, you always know exactly what you are eating and where it came from. This is comforting to a wide breadth of consumers, from vegetarians to those with food allergies (particularly shellfish and dairy). Kosher’s rigid regulations have also found favor in religions beyond Judaism; Muslims are the second largest religious market for Kosher foods. Diners at Max & David’s know that their meal was supervised under the authority of Rabbi Dov Brisman of Community Kashruth of Greater Philadelphia.
